As I stood back and looked at my first set of Ready-to-Roll Classroom bulletin boards in my classroom, I couldn't help but wonder what my students would think about the new decor. I had put up my Owl Themed Classroom bulletin boards. I made new word cards that matched and stapled them up and I had to say so myself, it looked A LOT better than my uneven, torn, dusty bulletin board I had up all year long. I couldn't help but think; Would they like it? Would they think it's boring? Or...would they even notice? I decided I wouldn't say anything to my students that Monday morning about our new and awesome bulletin boards. I was eager to see if they would stand out to my students or would it just be another Monday in the same ol' classroom.
So, in come my kiddos, tired and busy putting away their supplies when all of a sudden, low and behold I hear a loud, "Woah! Ms. Olson what happened to our walls?!" "That is so much more colorful!" "I like the owls!" Needless to say, I was relieved. My students noticed AND they seemed to like them too. As I kept designing more and more boards and putting them up in my classroom I heard more compliments and ooh's and aah's. Not just from my students, but from my parents, fellow teachers and administrators. It was really satisfying to see my students not only like the new decor but appreciate them too. They tell their friends about their classroom and they are proud to tell them that Room 24 is where they learn everyday. I can't wait for your students to see your Ready-to-Roll bulletin boards, too!
